Kids’ Meals
is a Bible-based children’s church curriculum for elementary
age children. It has a unique design and approach. When you
go to a restaurant you order only the items you want, Kids’
Meals works the same way. The teacher chooses activities from
the Kids’ Menu that is provided in each lesson. Each lesson
has over 5 hours of activities. Why are there 5 hours of activities?
To give the teacher flexibility to choose the activities they
feel would best suit their class. Another option is to use all
the activities over a period of 2 or 3 class times. Each activity
relates to the one spiritual truth for that lesson.
Kids’ Meals
provides a wide selection of menu items from which the teacher
can choose. There are ample items from each lesson for the teacher
to develop two or three classes. The variety of menu choices
provide the teacher side dishes of their personal preference
or where they are especially adept, such as skits or perhaps
games. The age of children, time limitation, number of children
in the class, etc. determine the choices or selections from
the menu.
For example,
the teacher may choose some items from the menu to minister
during a Sunday morning service, and then return to the same
menu and choose remaining items (or even a few “leftovers” for
the mid-week service). Please note serving leftovers sometimes
become people’s favorites.
Kids’ Meals
is not a fast-food curriculum. Sometimes it is fun to eat fast
food, but it doesn’t have much nutritional value. Good nutritious
meals require study, planning and preparation. God requires
His ministers to adequately prepare for a service (2 Tim. 2:15).
In Kids’ Meals the scripture references, sermon ideas, and a
large selection of activities have been provided to not only
facilitate the ease in lesson planning, but also to aid the
teacher in lesson preparation.
Kids’
Meals is made up of specialty foods. This curriculum has been
designed to present material in a novel and innovative fashion.
When a teacher is excited with the material, that attitude will
be conveyed to the students. This curriculum is designed with
YOU, the teacher, in mind. The Procedure sections will be directed
to you as the teacher whereas the Application sections will
be directed to students in a dialogue fashion.
